PAYDAY 2: Removing twitter challenges, all challenges to be in-game

By 2015-10-01PAYDAY 2

Hey guys,

First off, thanks for all the feedback thus far. There’s been a ton of community interaction happening the past few days which we’re so happy to see. We love getting you excited for the free Crimefest content that we’ve been working on for a long time. Seeing you work together as a community to finish the challenges makes all of us humbled and proud to have such a dedicated community.

Ever since we went live with the Road to Crimefest three days ago we’ve been reading your feedback, the discussions on this hub, reddit, twitter, facebook, SPUF, youtube comments and facepunch – and anywhere else we might see you talking about PAYDAY stuff.

Our idea with mixing in the twitter challenges with in-game challenges was that we thought it’d be fun if we surprised some of the voice actors who’ve made PAYDAY into what it is. We thought you’d enjoy this as much as we do. We know they’d appreciate your follow and hopefully it would lead to even more community interaction between you and them, which we’d love to see.

However, since we launched the event, you’ve clearly shown that you dislike the concept of the twitter challenges for various reasons. Adding two additional twitter challenges on day 3 of the event made you voice your opinion even louder – and we hear you. You perceive it in a completely different way than we do, and we respect that. Therefore, we’re removing all of the twitter challenges and are replacing them with in-game challenges.

The new in-game challenges will be added tomorrow. If a Twitter challenge is half way done for example, the new in-game challenge will be half way done.

Thanks again for your feedback and your support, and sorry if any of you took offense of the concept of twitter challenges. We thought it was a cool idea, but you’ve made it clear you thought otherwise. We always like trying new things to see what you like and what you don’t like. You’ve made clear that you dislike this, so we won’t do it again.

For us, Crimefest is all about the community and us developers having fun together. Lets make sure we all enjoy the coming days and the free content that you unlock along the way. Let’s do this!

Keep those helmets flying!
